Guy Anderson was one of The Big Four and foundation figure in the history of Northwest Art was known primarily for his oil painting that engaged mythical themes with earthy colors evocative of the regional environment. His work is in the collections of numerous museums including the Seattle Art Museum, the Tacoma Art Museum, and the Metropolitan Museum of Art. He has been called "Perhaps the most powerful artist to emerge from the Northwest School".
